Football season is here! Huzzah!

Football season is upon us and I am involved in a few pools. I am in a fantasy football league at my office where I go by the name "Silver Spring Bastardos" and my QB is Tony Homo. Sorry, Romo. It is strange to want to see the hated Cowboys do well though I also want to them to lose. I guess the perfect situation would be for Romo to throw 4 TDs each game and still lose. I let the website pick my players as I was too tired to stay awake for the draft. The guys on my league are all in their 20s and full of energy. I think the energy that allows one to work all day then stay up until 1 in the morning to pick your third string kicker must be located in the gallbladder. Because brother, I aint got it.

My other league is a suicide league which I run myself, and have for the last 10 years. The goal of this pool is to pick a loser each week. The Loser pool is a lot of fun and I have already survived the first week by picking the lovely Lions to lose what must be their 20th game in a row at this point. I think I will be picking either the Lions, Raiders or Rams all year but there is always a week where all the bad teams are playing each other and you are forced to pick and pray.

I did shutdown my old blog this month. Dead Air Podcast was something that my friend Steve and I ran and had a lot of fun with over the last few years. But as time went on and our responsibilities grew, we didn't update it as often and we rarely made a podcast. The final nail in the coffin was when a virus or trojan attached itself to the blog and Google shut us down. And that is all she wrote. We will come up with something sometime later but I might just start podcasting from this site. Time will tell.

Married life is going great. The wife and I will be married 2 months this week and her green card application is underway. We look forward to our Big Fat Catholic wedding in Colombia this December. That should be a hoot!

Let's go Ravens and soon I will be rooting for the Capitals as well!  I love the fall!
