Saffles' European Vacation

The Saffles are going to London! This is a picture I took the first time I visited London back in 2007. I actually went twice in 2007. The first time to visit my friend Richard whom I worked with in Japan back in 2000. I went again that December for his wedding in Kent, UK. Great times!

This trip I get to introduce Richard and his wife Lorna to Nohora and we both get to meet their 2 year-old son, James. We can't wait!

Nohora is looking forward to seeing the sights of London for the first time and I'm looking forward to drinking the beer! Some of the spots we are going to hit will be the Tower of London, Emirates Stadium to see a football match (Arsenal vs. Bolton Wanderers Carling Cup); Stonehenge and the city of Bath. I think I'm looking forward to Bath as this will be my first chance to see some Roman history in person.

Do you know of a special restaurant or museum we should be on the lookout for? Always looking for suggestions. I will have my travel-worn copy of Lonely Planet: London but it's a little dated. The #1 food I look forward to is curry. #2 everything else. I would worry about gaining 50lbs but seeing how everything is so expensive in London, I'll be lucky to eat at all.

While away our friend Jon will be house sitting so be careful, he's an ex-ninja. He is usually armed. Sgt. Pepper and Panela will miss us I am sure but on the plus side, we will bring home lots of European goodies for everyone, even the kittens.
